While our primary mission at Supplies Over Seas (SOS) is to connect surplus medical supplies and equipment with medically impoverished communities “overseas,” a portion of the materials that SOS recovers are used to support individuals and organizations in our own backyard.
Here are some of the ways in which SOS makes a local impact:
ENVIRONMENT- SOS strives to use and/or recycle 95 percent of the materials that we receive. No matter where the donated supplies and equipment from our warehouse end up, SOS makes a local impact by keeping those items out of our landfills.
EDUCATION- We support medical education by providing expired materials to medical and nursing educators, helping to stretch their limited classroom supply budgets. Click here for a complete program description.
PERSONAL HYGIENE– We support regional shelters and social service organizations by providing personal hygiene items that may not be appropriate to take on international medical mission trips. Click here for a complete program description.
ANIMAL WELFARE– We support regional Animal Welfare Organizations by providing expired supplies to free and affordable animal welfare groups. Click here for a complete program description and application.
