It costs Supplies Over Seas approximately $15,000 to ship a 40 ft. container full of supplies, conservatively valued at between $150,00 and $250,000. In other words, each $1 donated to SOS decreases the environmental footprint of area hospitals while providing a medically impoverished community with more than $15 in care.
A lot of work goes into transforming the donated medical supplies and equipment that SOS receives into the thoroughly sorted materials we deliver to medically impoverished communities. Simply put, Supplies Over Seas COULD NOT complete its mission to deliver health and hope without the extraordinary efforts of our volunteers. Last year SOS volunteers logged over 14,000 hours! And as SOS continues to reach more medically impoverished communities with more recycled and repurposed materials, our need for volunteers grows! Consider joining our mission to promote a healthy environment and a healthy world!
Individuals wishing to donate health-related products can call (502) 736-6360 to schedule a drop-off, or simply stop by our 1500 Arlington Ave. warehouse 8am-4pm, Monday-Friday. Unfortunately, due to the small size of our staff, Supplies Over Seas is unable to pick up medical supplies from individuals.
